Renovation

Delta Upsilon fraternity at the University of Kansas retained Treanor Architects to renovate its existing house and to create additions to both the north and south sides. The design team expanded the existing facility in a manner that was sympathetic to the original architecture yet still accommodated the new program requirements. The house's living room/gathering area was transformed back to its original grandeur, while the addition provided a new library and serving area for the dining room. Originally constructed in brick, the structure's new addition used the color, brick selection and details of the original building, but in a fresh manner. Work included expansion of the parking areas and the creation of an outdoor plaza.
