Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity
Kansas State University

Transformation

Treanor Architects, P.A. is currently providing design services for the renovation of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity on the Kansas State University campus. As fraternities are faced with increasing competition from other fraternities and off-campus housing, the need to provide a ‘home away from home’ atmosphere is critical in recruiting new members. In an effort to meet the needs of their current undergraduates while preparing TKE for the future, the existing house is undergoing a complete renovation including transforming all existing rooms into study/sleeping suites to provide a variety of study and sleeping room sizes from 2 to 6 men; upgrading all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; new communications/data infrastructure; new fire protection and life safety system; expanded laundry room facilities; new provisions for accessibility; upgraded interior finishes and expanded study/learning space.
