Franklin County Missouri Government Building
Union, Missouri
Seamless IntegrationFranklin County selected Treanor Architects to provide master planning and design services for four separate projects. The first project, currently under construction, is a County Administrative Office Center that is located in Union, Mo., on the courthouse square. The office center and a second project—a new courthouse—are designed to mirror each other and to maintain a focus on the existing historic courthouse, creating a unified county complex. The Administrative Office Center contains commissioners’ chambers; offices for the county clerk, assessors, collectors, recorder of deeds, planning and zoning and building department; and other non-judicial county offices. It is a two-and-one-half story building with a simple, clear circulation pattern facilitating easy way finding. The building has been designed to accommodate future expansion without interrupting operations. Exterior detailing is designed to break the building scale down into smaller storefronts, which helps the new structure blend more seamlessly into surrounding architecture. |
