CEBC Laboratory Renovation
KU Center for Research

The Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis is a new research program within the KU Center for Research.

“The vision of CEBC is to create transformational technologies for the Chemical Industry that are ecologically responsible, inherently safe, and economically attractive. In partnership with industry, CEBC will develop advanced technologies that minimize waste generation, protect environmental quality, improve economic well being and promote a better quality of life.” - CEBC Informational Brochure

The program is housed in a 19,000 s.f., 1980's era research building. As the type of research proposed involves a much higher density of fume hoods, a complete renovation of the mechanical system was required. Also, as funding was tied to a particular occupancy date, a phased approach was implemented to accelerate the process.

Laboratory renovations included casework reconfiguration, installation of new fume hoods, emergency eyewashes etc. Also included was a code footprint study.

GLPM is pleased to be associated with such important and exciting research.
