Stephens Hall
University of Missouri-Columbia
Labs, Offices and Support Space for BiochemistryStephens Hall was built in 1936. It is a two-level 6,600 square foot, limestone building. The program for the renovation was developed by GLPM Architects and became the major focus of the design efforts. The project includes labs, offices and support space for Biochemistry. A complete upgrade of the electric and HVAC systems has been designed and the addition of an elevator included. While converting the building to modern laboratory requirements, maintaining the original architectural character was always a top priority. GLPM Interiors assembled the basic finish package for this project. This consisted of carpet, tile, paint, laminate, decorative metal finish, etc. We also selected finishes to coordinate with a custom floor finish and art pieces that the client had previously selected. The project was successfully bid in the summer of 2001 and the construction work was completed by the end of 2002. |
