Transgenic & Biobehavioral Animal Facility
University of Kansas

Renovation of approximately 5,500 square feet

GLPM assisted the University of Kansas in the planning for the proposed Transgenic and Biobehavioral Measurement Animal Facility. This work was subsequent to a grant proposal to the NIH.

The project included a renovation of approximately 5,500 square feet of existing animal care facility to accommodate new research. Included within the facility are the following areas:

  • Micro-injection and Genotyping Laboratory
  • Biobehavioral Measurement Laboratory
  • Mouse Husbandry Room
  • Pathology Laboratory
  • Mouse Quarantine and Support Rooms.

Within the confines of an existing building layout, considerable care was taken to create proper work flows and appropriate movements of the rodent population.
