The Student Housing Master Plan

Recent and projected enrollment growth on top of already insufficient housing was seen as a threat to the highly valued residential character of Benedictine College. Continuing our relationship with the college, Treanor Architects P. A. conducted a student housing master plan, along with a campus-wide facilities master plan, to accommodate growth while reinforcing the residential culture of the campus. The Student Housing Master Plan is a comprehensive guide to the residential facilities necessary to support the vision and goals of the Benedictine College community for the next 10 years. It included a market analysis, a financial analysis, facility assessments, “ideal model” housing programs, conceptual plans and siting for future buildings, and phasing recommendations for the construction and renovation of 1,000 beds. This in-depth analysis provides Benedictine College a guide for directing its future growth and expansion while remaining true to the values and culture of the college. Alongside the housing Master Plan, Treanor Architects P. A. conducted a campus-wide facilities Master Plan. Workshops and planning charrettes clarified the college’s current facility needs and the impacts of anticipated enrollment growth. Existing condition assessments were performed for all major campus buildings - identifying life safety, accessibility and deferred maintenance deficiencies. Benedictine College's Master Plan outlines a 10-year program of renovations and major capital improvements including phasing recommendations, conceptual budgets and a new campus plan.
