Accessibility and Environment

Providing services for the physically challenged, Independence, Inc. is a not-for-profit agency. This 14,000 square foot building contains offices, training rooms, a training kitchen, and a library. The building is three floors with a large, two-story foyer space. The main concern of this building was integrating accessibility into the design. This was accomplished by the use of ADA guidelines, recommendations, and valuable client input. The avoidance of an "institutional" look was crucial in making this a comfortable working and training environment.
