Headquarters & Educational Center
The renovation of the former Missouri Boiler building in downtown St. Louis is a state-of-the-art, 96,023-sq-ft campus resurrected the spacious structure in the Choteau Crossing development with efficient and resourceful construction methods.
Treanor worked with Green Street Development to design and construct the new St. Louis Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union #36 headquarters. The building is an interactive learning center to monitor solar hot water and its use, energy efficient HVAC and lighting systems, storm water collection and use, and energy use compared to generation and net metering.
Including a 1,000-seat multiple event venue, this building is intended to introduce the public to the training needed to become a journeyman sheet metal worker and how the training and construction practices contribute to the entire building sustainability effort. The project is tracking LEED Platinum.
