Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center Phase II
Hutchinson, Kansas

Training Course

Phase II of Treanor’s KLETC project will provide a 1.7-mile emergency vehicle driver training course and support facilities, including a driving skills pad, skid pad, control tower, vehicle storage building and classroom/office building, which will house KLETC's driving simulators and provide additional office and classroom space for the drivers' training program.

A Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA) facility will provide officers realistic search and rescue training utilizing "simmunitions", a training application projectile similar to paint ball ammunition and weapon technology.

The NLTA facility is separated into two halves, with one half built to simulate a typical residence and the other half a typical convenience store. Interior rooms are open to view from an overhead catwalk, to allow observation by instructors of training events. A breaching door is included for forced-entry training.

Completion of Phase 2 is scheduled for January 2010.
