Paola, KansasNew Police and Municipal Courts Facility
In 2008, Treanor Architects completed a new $3 million police and municipal courts facility for the City of Paola, Kansas.
In conjunction with the police department and city staff, Treanor established a building program, developed conceptual design plans and determined budget parameters. The facility includes offices for police administrators, detectives and the court clerk. Areas also were designated for the department’s lieutenants and patrol staff. Also included in the building was a booking and holding area, evidence processing and storage and a central dispatch center.
In addition to the police functions, the facility is home to the Paola Municipal Court. The court space will serve also as a multi-purpose/training room for the police department. This 13,000 sq ft facility has been designed to be compatible with the other civic buildings in the city.
