Riley County Law Enforcement Center

Manhattan, Kansas

City/County Law Enforcement Facility & Expansion

The Law Enforcement Center operates as a combined city/county law enforcement agency. The center houses the police operations, investigations, offices, and a jail facility. Located in Manhattan, the facility is sited on a prominent intersection in the southwest part of town and is expected to serve the county’s needs for the next 15 years.

This law enforcement police operations portion houses patrol, investigation, communication, and administration departments for the Riley County Police Department. Also included are physical training facilities and an evidence lab.

The jail was designed to house 75 persons of varied classification levels in both direct and indirect supervision settings with design accommodations to expand to 120 inmates. Treanor also provided design, layout and material selection for an 11,000 square foot addition to the north side of the building. The addition houses a 32 bed maximum security area with the ability to expand in the future with an addition 24 beds. Phase II was completed in 2010.
